Oh Mr. Sun! Where are you?!
Come out, come out, where ever you are!
Greetings everyone! First off I would like to apologize for going MIA on you all these past few weeks. February has proven itself to be a crazy month so fur, unfortunately with its various holidays and snow storms our time in the classroom has been limited. However the kids are back and ready to learn! Below is a list of what we have been up to.
We have had an extra fun theme this past week. Each day the kids studied a new fairy tale character. So far we have covered the gingerbread man, three billy goats gruff, and today was Goldie locks and the three bears. We start each lesson by making a hand held character from the story who we then motion along as we read aloud. The kids have had a lot of fun with this!
Aside from all our fairy tale talk, your children have been hard at work continuing to master their basic skills. For the month of February we have covered the number seven, letter X, and our pattern of pink, pink, red, white. Today we worked especially hard on writing numbers 1-10. The kids spent a solid hour writing each one out. Please feel free to dig deeper in our recent topics, every little bit helps! Homework: Work on knowing the difference between the right or left side of something. With all of the crafts we do and when we say the pledge in the morning having this skill down can be really helpful. Also, continue on with having your children practice their letters and numbers. Practice only makes perfect!
Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a great day!
Hopefully the sun will be able to make an appearance here someday soon!
